Acrostic Poem:

Summary of issues: There are too many people in India today and there will be many more when the population grows with this rate. There are already 1.1 billion people in India and at the end of 2050 it is estimated to have 1.6 billion people. Since the medical standards increased in India the people live longer lives. In 1947 the life expectancy was 33 years and now it is mid-60! With people living longer and the rate of the increasing population India needs more food and water to support their people. Agriculture uses most of the fresh water, so there will not be that much fresh water to drink in India. India needs more water and land to produce food to its people, but they don’t have the space or water, because there are so many people.

This relates to geography, because it deals with the population in one country on the globe. And it tells us what India has to do to keep it population alive. It also deals with what challenges India have to go through to feed and have enough fresh water for its population. It also relates too what we study right now in social studies about that the earth is maybe going to have to many people to live on it so the will be no space for producing crops and meat. There is a limited a mount of space but it will soon be filled out by all they people on the earth and what are we going to do?

Population growth is increasing in the world.

Of all resources fresh water is the most scares to find.

People need water and food to survive.

Usages of water for agriculture purpose to grow crops.

Low farm productions are due to lack of land and water.

Arable land is not enough you also need water.

Train stations in India are over crowded.

India is the second most populated country and might overtake China.

Outside of houses the traffic is permanently jammed.

No more available fresh water in 2050 than there is now.

The Revealers

In the novel, The Revealers, the students of Parkland Middle felt connected through SchoolStream or as the students called it KidNet where they were able to chat or instant message. Most of you do this nightly through MSN Messenger. With KidNet and MSN nobody could break into or eavesdrop on your conversation without it being known. Not anymore. Today’s technology allows you to assume the identity of another person. Do you really know whom you are talking to in the cyber world?

It is 10:00 pm on a Wednesday night; you have finished your homework and you are chatting on MSN with three other friends. After 10 minutes two more friends ask to join the chat. By 10:30 pm five more people have joined and it is fun; however, there is a joke said about one of the people, rapidly followed by an insult. At first, no one knows how to respond, then seconds later a message pops up stating, “I didn’t say that! It isn’t me saying these things. Someone is using my name. What is going on here?”

What is the issue involved in this scenario? Why is this serious?

What would be a responsible way to handle this situation?

How could a situation like this be resolved? How would one of the three main characters from The Revealers deal with this situation?

Post: The issue of this scenario is that one guy/girl insulted an other person and then he says it wasn't me. This is serius because that the person that gets insulted doesn't like it and so he is going to tell on the guy that insulted him and what if it wasn't him that insulted the guy. You could handle thi situation in many different ways here is one example: you could ignore what just happened and move on or you could take part in it and start blaming it on people. I think that Russel, Elliot or Catalina would ignore it or just stay quite the whole time.

Blog Question: Is bullying a rite of passage of childhood and adolescence? Is it apart of the maturation process one needs to go through to reach adulthood? Explain. Mrs. Hogeboom brings up this topic on page 108.

Post: Bulling is a phase everybody goes through. Bullies ussally learn to bully by seeing, and beening bullied. Many people learn to bully from their friends or parents. Bulling is a common thing in middle school. It is not only children that gets bullied adults can also be bullied, but you must hear about children getting bullied. Some children bully because they want to be popular or it makes then feel powerful. I think every child goes through a phase where they bully or get bullied, so that means that it is a natural part of your life.
